KCRW 89.9FM, licensed to Santa Monica College, is National Public Radio's flagship station for Southern California. WHUS Radio is the college/community radio station at the University of Connecticut dedicated to broadcast and new media production. WHUS maintains a 24/7 live FM broadcast, as well as a second online radio stream WHUS2, where students and community members produce music, news, sports, and public affairs programming.
In 2014, WHUS opened a new multimedia production and recording studio, dedicated to recording and mixing live bands as well as producing and editing music and news video content, published on the station's website, whus.org. WHUS hosts a series of on-campus events throughout the year, including concerts, lectures, forums and film screenings.
