German immigrants formed the school district in 1928. Klein ISD is a Recognized District with the Texas Education Agency. The district has more than 47,900 students, and it employs about 6,100 people. The center of the district is 40 minutes from downtown Houston.

We are the Destination District for public schools in Central Texas. Our schools educate and support more than 49,000 students, Pre-K through grade 12.
