Wire Creative specializes in building, managing and maintaining web sites using the Joomla! Content Management System (CMS). Joomla! provides a powerful software framework for building a wide range of web sites, from simple online brochures to extensive e-commerce catalogs and feature-rich social communities. Joomla's web-based administration panel is clean and intuitive, and the software is supported by a vast developer community that has created thousands of extensions catering to the needs of different types of web sites. While there are hundreds, if not thousands, of CMSes to choose from, there are three big ones that dominate the OpenSource community: Joomla!, Drupal and WordPress. Drupal is powerful, but we feel its administration interface is too complex to reasonably expect our clients to feel confident taking the reins of their own site management, if that is their goal. In the last few years WordPress has become the most well-known of the three by appealing primarily to bloggers. While we like the simplicity of WordPress's user interface, we also find the software too limited in purpose, and not adequate for the diversity of sites that we service. After years of building web sites from scratch, eventually developing our own CMS in 2004, Wire Creative finally adopted Joomla as its framework of choice in 2009. Since 2009, Wire Creative has become deeply familiar with Joomla and its developer community. We know which extensions will best keep a site engaging, efficient and secure; and which template developers provide the best features, style and code.
