Wilmette Hockey Association Information

The Wilmette Park District and Wilmette Hockey Association are partnered to offer one of the premier community-­based youth hockey programs in Illinois. In Wilmette, there is a place for every level of player! For the young beginner, the Wilmette Park District's Learn to Skate classes and hockey skill development classes serve as a great spring board to your youngster's first team hockey experience in the WHA's Devo Mite and Junior Mite house league. For those kids that catch the hockey bug at an older age, the Wilmette Park District's Hockey Skill Development Classes serve as jump-­in point to the WHA's house hockey leagues and beyond. Your skater can then continue on in the WHA's house program that runs from the Senior Mite level to Bantam level. House hockey is a great place for skaters that want to play team hockey in a fun, competitive but less time-intensive program. If your skater just cant get enough hockey, the WHA offers one of the area's largest and most competitive Youth Travel programs. Travel is for competitve players that have the time to practice several times a week and want to play against other teams from across the greater Chicagoland area. There is usually a spot for everyone that has a desire to play at this level. The WHA also promotes League Hockey specifically for girls, fielding U10, U12 and U14 teams that play other all-­girls teams in the area. Girls are welcome to play on the Youth Travel (boys and girls) or the Girls-­only teams...or both if they want! Together, our goal is to provide a great experience for every level of skater. From the beginner to the the most advanced. From the casual player to the most competitive.
