Chaka Khan Enterprises is the company behind Chaka Khan. It is artist owned, and it has one job: to steward a fifty year body of work and to keep building on it.
Chaka Khan is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, a ten time Grammy winner, and the recipient of the Recording Academy's 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest honour it bestows. Now in her sixth decade of recorded music, she is among the very few vocalists to have worked credibly across R&B, funk, jazz, pop, rock, gospel, classical and dance. Her catalogue continues to be sampled, covered and discovered by audiences who were not born when the records were made. CKE exists so that the work behind that catalogue is run deliberately rather than reactively.
The company operates across recordings, live performance, music licensing and synchronisation, brand partnerships and consumer products, theatre and film. It relaunched Earth Song Records, which partners with BMG on Chaka's current album. It produces the stage musical "I'm Every Woman: The Chaka Khan Musical" and the feature documentary "Woman of Fire." It manages the touring operation, the catalogue, and the partnerships built around both.
Longevity is the thing we actually build for. Careers in this industry are usually structured around the next release, and that structure quietly spends the artist. CKE is structured the other way, around what the work and the person who makes it will still be able to do in twenty years. That principle is why the company exists in this form, and it shapes what we say yes to.
Chaka Khan Enterprises works alongside the Chaka Khan Foundation, a separate nonprofit organisation serving the neurodivergent community through music, mindfulness and meditation.
