World Centric began with a mission to reduce economic injustice and environmental degradation through education and community networks. Founded in 2004 by Aseem Das as a non-profit, he funded the organization through a small, online store promoting Fair Trade products. Realizing the contribution compostables items have to reducing waste, they were added to the store’s offerings. As demand grew for an earth-friendly alternative to traditional disposables, World Centric began to innovate and introduce our own products made from renewable resources and agricultural byproducts. We unintentionally became a leading supplier in the green packaging industry.Recognizing the power of commerce to impact the planet, World Centric converted to a for-profit social enterprise in 2009. In 2010, we certified as a B Corp, then became a California Benefit Corporation - using our products and profits as a way to make a difference in the world. “When we are young, we think the whole world revolves around us - that is Ego Centric. BioPak was founded with the intention of disrupting an industry that was ripe for change, and a significant contributor to the degradation of the environment in the packaging it produced and the resources it consumed. We believe there is a better way of doing things. That’s why all of our packaging is made from responsibly-sourced plant-based materials, designed for a circular economy and carbon neutral from resource to disposal. It starts with responsibly-sourced materials, continues with environmentally certified manufacturing processes, and ends with nutrient-rich compost that can be used to regenerate soil, grow new plants and help fight climate change. More than just going plastic-free, BioPak's compostable packaging and compost collection service mean we can all join the movement towards zero waste. We offset all carbon emissions associated with the production, distribution and disposal of our products. We donate 7.5% of profits to Rainforest Rescue (Australia) and Forest & Bird (New Zealand), two conservation organisations fighting to protect and restore our national forests, as well as local charities and offset all carbon associated with our products. As a certified BCorp, we are legally required to consider the impact of our decisions on our workers, customers, suppliers, community, and the environment. This is a community of leaders, driving a global movement of people using businesses as a force for good.

Ecovative uses biology to solve fundamental human needs at industrial scales and in consumer applications. Ecovative uses mycelium to grow category defining products ranging from leather like textiles to sustainable packaging to high performance foams for apparel and beauty. Ecovative has been widely recognized for its technical and environmental contributions by organizations like the World Economic Forum and in the media including Wired Magazine, Forbes, and Time.
