The Mountaineers is a community of outdoor enthusiasts passionate about exploration, discovery, learning, and conservation. Founded in 1906 by 151 visionaries, our members named peaks, explored waterways, and built trails to uncover unique and challenging landscapes. We helped create the North Cascades Wilderness area, and passed the National Wilderness Act. With an average of 6 activities a day to help you climb, ski, hike, paddle, sail, snowshoe, scramble, and more, we invite you to join us to lose yourself in the outdoors. EXPLORE Our courses and activities will get you outside. Discover your abilities. Enjoy the reward of reaching new places and achieving new heights. LEARN We’ve been teaching people to climb mountains for more than 120 years. We even wrote the book on mountaineering. Literally. If you’re interested in standing on top of the world, or simply learning a new outdoor skill, we have the experience and the knowledge to take you there. CONSERVE The Mountaineers pioneered wilderness conservation in the Pacific Northwest more than a hundred years ago. We are committed to ensuring that the next generation is just as passionate about the outdoors as we are. Join us today and choose your own adventure with The Mountaineers.
