Wild First Information

For over 30 years, open net pen fish farms have put wild Pacific salmon at risk. Multiple species are now in critical decline. Wild First’s mission is to support governments, communities and individuals working together to transition away from open net pen fish farms in the coastal waters of British Columbia. Voices supporting this important transition include 102 First Nations, scientists, commercial fishers, sport and recreational fishers, tourism and tour operators, business leaders, chefs and restauranteurs, academics, streamkeepers and volunteers. British Columbians, across multiple sectors, understand that wild Pacific salmon are critical to preserving what makes BC unique and special. Together, we are passionate about protecting wild Pacific salmon, for today and for generations to come.
