Kane FM has evolved from a pirate radio station to its present legal status of a not-for-profit community radio station. Kane FM is based in Guildford, UK, broadcasting to the surrounding area on 103.7 FM, and worldwide at http://www.kanefm.com/listen/.
It is only the third pirate station in the UK to gain legal status through OFCOM, the UK's regulatory authority for broadcasting and telecommunications.
A community radio station, Kane FM is about roots music of all genres that is not proportionally represented on other stations. It provides a platform for new talent, addresses inclusion and engagement of young people – and the lack thereof – with numerous ongoing youth outreach projects. The station is run almost entirely by volunteers who strive to improve technical, social, cultural and artistic skills.
Our mission statement: We are a not for profit organisation that works tirelessly, creatively and positively. Through independent music we work towards breaking down barriers within the community, engaging young people in culture and the arts through the medium of radio.
Nova Radio is a community radio project broadcasting 24 hours a day to the people of the North East, live on via our live stream. Based at Breeze Creatives in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne!
We support the community of the North East with training, confidence building, art expression, and freedom of speech and opinion. Created by the community for the community, Nova Radio is solely designed to engage the community in activities surrounding broadcasting, music production, and promotion, discussions, debates, interviews, information and personal development.
Nova Radio is run entirely by volunteers, from our on-air personnel to everybody behind the scenes. We’re a community group creating radio for the communities across the North East and beyond via the internet.
