WIAFP Information

The Wisconsin Association for Financial Professionals (WIAFP), formerly known as Wisconsin Treasury Management Association (WTMA), was founded in 1978 by a group of treasury management professionals in the southeastern Wisconsin area looking to develop a network for sharing of Cash and Treasury Management concepts and to establish a forum for educational development of its members. The association has continued to hold meetings directed at fulfilling that purpose since that time. Originally, the Association membership was comprised primarily of employees of large Milwaukee based corporations. As the Cash and Treasury Management profession continued to develop and evolve, and Treasury Management products became more widely distributed, employees of medium and smaller sized businesses have found the association a valuable means to acquire additional knowledge of the concepts and best practices in the Cash and Treasury Management profession. In 1986, membership was opened to employees of the various financial services providers in recognition of the vital contribution these organizations provide toward meeting the educational goals of the Association. The Wisconsin Association for Financial Professionals (WIAFP) continues to evolve as the business environment changes and our profession expands.
