Founded in 2004 by Kulapat Yantrasast, WHY is an interdisciplinary team of architects, landscape architects, designers, and strategists creating lasting connections between people, culture, and place. Based in Los Angeles and New York City, we partner with cultural institutions, civic leaders, and private clients to design places where people live, gather, create, and connect. Culture is at the heart of everything we do. We're known for our work with museums and art spaces — from the Michael C. Rockefeller Wing at The Metropolitan Museum of Art to the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures — and we bring that same care to performing arts venues, hospitality, and residences, as well as the landscapes and public spaces that hold them.
