Whitten Architects Information

For over 40 years, Whitten Architects has been at the forefront of residential design in New England. Based in Portland, Maine, our practice is rooted in the belief that a home should be a seamless extension of its environment. Whether reimagining a coastal retreat, an urban oasis, a lakefront cottage, or a mountain home, our process is guided by the unique site: its landforms, natural light, and native vegetation. By blending timeless New England aesthetics with modern, high-performance systems, we deliver award-winning architecture that offers lifelong value. We believe the most meaningful homes are born from collaboration. We invite our clients to be active participants in the design process, ensuring that personal priorities and lifestyle needs are translated into enduring, site-specific architecture.
