At White Oak Counseling we help people achieve more effective relationships between themselves and others, or with the world in which they live. Focus is on the solution and not the problem, emphasis on treating the whole person and the whole family. This approach involves: Focusing on and enhancing what is working in clients' lives, rather than what is not working. Assisting clients to identify their existing strengths, resources, and problem-solving skills to promote positive change. Respecting the client's wisdom and understanding of themselves. Understanding that lasting changes involve client's input, participation and involvement to determine the goals for therapy. Recognizing that clients function within many environments, and that changes in those environments may be necessary for long-term success.
