Whisky Wisemen Information

Whisky Wisemen Society is a not-for-profit organization started in Vancouver and founded on a love for whisky and the desire to share that with a like-minded community once a month. We didn't just want to sit around drinking without purpose but rather we wanted to make sure we were also doing something to improve ourselves and for the betterment of our community. Since January 2013, we've hosted #socialwhisky events on the #thirdThursday of every month at Shebeen Whisk(e)y House in Vancouver's historic Gastown district. Since then we have expanded and opened chapters in Victoria, BC, Calgary, AB and New York City, with others coming online soon. The premise is simple: the first 50 people to attend receive a complementary ounce of whisky sponsored by Glenmorangie and after that, 10% of each patrons bill goes towards a designated local charity by each Chapter. We also have created our unique and delicious signature 'cocktail for a cause' The Wiseman, where $1 from the sale of each drink also goes to assist our local charity partners which is driven by supporting bars in each Chapter city. Our mission is to develop and expand this model to other cities around the world and create a global community of change-markers who want to #dogood and #bebetter. One way we are living this mission is through our #chivalrychallenge where we encourage others to perform random acts of kindness to a stranger and then pass on one of our Chivalry Chips to them to do the same. We aim to encourage every individual to push the boundaries in their own personal and professional lives in order to reach their maximum potential. Our value proposition to everyone is to do one thing each day that betters you and the community you live in.
