Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD) is the UK's democracy support organisation. Working with partners in 50+ countries and territories, we help build political systems that serve everyone's needs and resolve differences without violence. Democracy is the foundation for security, stability, and prosperity and our evidence-based programmes strengthen democratic systems so that they deliver for citizens. and create environments where peace and development can flourish. Strong democracies foster better trade and investment conditions and are better able to deliver sustained economic growth. They also help tackle root causes of instability and counter authoritarian influence. Our locally-led programmes build partnerships with parliaments, political parties, electoral bodies and civil society. Together, we work to address global challenges like corruption, misinformation, and climate change.
