The Western States Police Canine Association (WSPCA), a nonprofit organization, is governed by a board of directors elected by the membership to serve two-year terms. Our mission is to promote professionalism and safety for all working police K9 teams. Membership in Western States Police Canine Association (WSPCA) is open to active and retired law enforcement, corrections, and military teams from city, county, state, and federal agencies. Associate membership is open to persons with an interest in law enforcement K9 training, subject to Board approval. WSPCA is committed to promoting strong police K9 programs and training to enhance law enforcement service. Our group strives to achieve our mission by sanctioning police K9 competitions that stress the importance of control, as well as safety tactics while encountering scenarios that mimic encounters on the street. In addition, training seminars feature some of the top K9 trainers in the world. The WSPCA provides a forum for K9 handlers and trainers of varied backgrounds, experience, and philosophies to exchange ideas.
