The West Virginia International Film Festival's mission is to inspire a love of cinema through diverse and inclusive films. The WVIFF was founded in 1985 and continues to thrive and grow. Our goal is to present two annual Film Festivals that feature critically-acclaimed domestic and foreign films as well as documentaries, and to provide monthly screenings at our Floralee Hark Cohen Cinema. As of 3 years ago, WVIFF welcomed a micro-cinema to facilitate year-round programming, which has recently been renamed the Floralee Hark Cohen Cinema. The 29 seat theater screens monthly specials, including a 'Movies that Matter Monday', West Virginia Wednesdays, and national and international feature films on Fridays and Saturdays. The cinema also houses concessions, highlighting locally sourced popcorn and salt ( J.Q. Dickinson Salt). WVIFF actively seek out films that tie to the West Virginia Community and welcome suggestions from our supporters. We hope that our passion for film and cinema will share the global talents of film makers and their vision.
