Wellami Information

Wellami develops products for people with limited mobility, in which design, functionality and aesthetics are combined. The first Wellami product line consists of a series of comfortable shower seats. The seats are waterproof and therefore perfect for use in the bathroom and shower. The seats are made from soft polyesther foam, coated in a rubber-like material that is durable and easy to clean. The chairs are available with no frame, making them light and easy to move, or with a frame and soft cushion to support the back. The Wellami seats come in two different heights for comfortable seating. This concept of Social design and the Wellami shower chairs were launched and very well received during the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan in the spring of 2011. Wellami is an internet community that searches for innovative solutions for people with limited mobility. By leveraging crowdsourcing we aim to develop and bring to market products that stimulate societal participation for these people without stigmatising them. The goal is to create an empowered community that is able to create an inspiring future. Wellami is supported by a grant from the Dutch government (SBIR credit from Agentschap.nl).
