Welcome Aboard Travel Information

Welcome Aboard Travel was established by Barbara Vucanovich in 1969. In 1970 she moved the company into a new building at 315 East Plumb Lane in Shoppers Square in Reno, Nevada. In 1974 Mrs Vucanovich sold the company to a group of businessmen. In 1977 Jane Wohletz assumed controlling interest in Welcome Aboard Travel. Under her direction the company resumed its growth, and in 1980 the building was doubled in size and the American Airlines Sabre Computer Reservation System was installed. In 1984 the American Airlines Agency Data System was installed for both in-house bookkeeping as well as accounting and reports for corporate accounts. In 1987 this system was upgraded with new state of the art equipment, and in 1988 the improved, IBM carbonless ticket printer was installed for combined tickets and boarding passes. Also in 1988 the accounting system was replaced with new IBM equipment, greatly expanding the corporate report program. In August 1991 the company moved to a new larger office at 1296 East Plumb Lane, Suite I, in Airport Square, again upgrading the equipment and capabilities. Since then the business has grown to fill the new expanded space. In March 2000, the accounting system was completely replaced with TRAVCOM, an independent travel agent accounting system designed by travel agents. This system was chosen both for its independence, and for its capabilities. With the associated Crystal Report Program we can design special reports to meet all your needs.
