Welborn Clinic Information

July 10, 2007 , Welborn Clinic is set to be the first organization in the area recognized by the Wellness Council of Indiana for raising the standards for employee health and wellness. Over a year ago a Welborn Clinic task force formed an Employee Health Committee to implement an incentive program to support healthy behaviors and habits at work. Welborn Clinic's Human Resources Director Marty Mattingly and Administrative Assistant Jessica Crooks spent extensive time and planning to submit programs for consideration to the council. The team created programs such as Yoga for lunch, Aerobics for dinner and the addition of a Health Care Advocate nurse on site. The goal of these programs expects to improve employee morale, cut down absenteeism and reduce demand for medical services, on-the-job injuries, workers , compensation and disability-management costs. On July 10, 2007 the President of the Wellness Council along with other council representatives will be on site at Welborn Clinic to present the 3 Star Wellness Award during a luncheon at noon. The Wellness Council of Indiana is a non-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting healthier and safer workplaces by encouraging lifestyle changes among employees. The Wellness Council provides a certification process in cooperation with Indiana Business Magazine to help companies achieve, and be recognized for, proven wellness programs at the worksite. Since the launch of the Wellness Incentive Program last October both Welborn Clinic and its employees are already seeing a big difference. Wander Southern Indiana is another program in place to encourage employees to get out and walk, ride or exercise their way throughout Southern Indiana.
