In 1984, Leon Weiland went into an 800 sq. ft. barn on his farm to go about designing and building the toughest doors for the beef and pork processors around Nebraska and Iowa. The features of would-be competitors that were failing his prospective customers inspired him to deliver something superior. Out of this need was born the seamless fiberglass concept which soon garnered what many have called a cult following. Today Weiland Inc. has moved off the farm into a state-of-the-art 60,000 sq. ft. facility in Norfolk, NE. Their fiberglass and stainless steel doors and windows are the envy of the marketplace and their features are often mimicked only in clever marketing and words by competitors, but not in actual product quality.
