Wecycle Information

Wecycle is a non-profit organisation that aims to make plastic recycling in Oslo more sustainable. Today, the collection of plastics in Norway is one of the most effective in Europe. But a lot of plastic is still not collected, and most collected plastic is sent abroad for sorting and recycling. Our goal is to provide solutions that improve the recycling of plastic in Oslo wherever it is needed, and with our local recycling facility, we give plastics a second life - by turning them into new products. Our approach is based upon the Precious Plastic model, a global community of grassroots recycling projects that provides open-source tools for building recycling machines and community-based recycling. --------------------- Wecycle er en ideell organisasjon som har som mål å gjøre plastgjenvinning i Oslo mer bærekraftig. I dag er plastinnsamlingen i Norge en av de mest effektive i Europa. Men mye plast samles fremdeles ikke inn, og mesteparten av den innsamlede plasten sendes til utlandet for sortering og gjenvinning. Målet vårt er å tilby løsninger som forbedrer resirkuleringen av plast i Oslo der det er behov. Med vårt lokale gjenvinningsanlegg gir vi plast et nytt liv - ved å gjøre det om til nye produkter. Tilnærmingen er basert på prosjektet Precious Plastic. Precious Plastic et globalt nettverk for resirkuleringsprosjekter som tilbyr open source-verktøy for å bygge resirkuleringsmaskiner og jobbe med fellesskapsbasert resirkulering.
