Founded in 1973, Webb Industries is one of the leading and largest suppliers of ancilliary equipment to the Land Mobile Radio, Cellular, DECT and Tetra Radio Communications industries in South Africa. Jasco was formed in 1976 by two entrepreneurs, John Sherry and Edward Emary and was listed on the Johannesburg Securities Exchange (JSE) IN 1987. Jasco hold investments in the Telecommunication, Manufacturing and Security sector. Effective 01 March 2003 Jasco concluded an empowerment deal with Community Investment Holdings (Pty) Ltd (“CIH”), a black empowerment group, lead by Dr. Anna Mokgokong and Joe Madungandaba, through the acquisition of a wholly-owned subsidiary of CIH. As a result of this transaction Jasco became the first black controlled company in the Electronic and Electrical Equipment sector of the JSE."
