WebAppoint was acquired by Microsoft in October 2000. WebAppoint was the world's first, real-time, any-time any-place appointment scheduling ASP. Utilizing the Internet as a widely accessible platform to link between service providers and their customers, WebAppoint offered the only complete scheduling technology platform on the market. Its e-Service platform was accessible via any browser, wireless device or by calling a 24/7 interactive voice response system. WebAppoint specialized in the customized embedding of its application through licensing agreements with portals, destination sites and directories. WebAppoint's solution consisted of a distributed Internet-based appointment-scheduling network providing standard browser and wireless device access. With WebAppoint's solution, appointments were created based upon multiple criteria, including combinations of specific days/times and first available slot. Users could also search for the availability of a particular appointment based upon several search criteria, such as timetable and geographic region. Additional capabilities that were part of the service, include e-mail and voice reminders of scheduled appointments, driving directions to service providers, automatic notification of service provider events and automatic waiting list notification. WebAppoint specialized in the custom embedding of its application through licensing agreements with portals, destination sites and directories.
