We are a family company. Gandia Blasco was founded by José Gandía Blasco in the 1940s and reinvented by his son José A. Gandía-Blasco, the current Chairman, together with his team.
José is a Mediterranean way of life passionate. Purity of design with architectural lines defines the personality of GANDIABLASCO creations. More than furniture, they are fresh, elegant products that complement each other to produce settings for enjoying the outdoors in true Mediterranean style.
Now Gandia Blasco group is 83 years old without forgetting its roots: a long journey that began in the Valencia textile industry in 1941, moving to the design of furniture, outdoor spaces and rugs in the mid-90s that now distributes the designs of its three brands: GANDIABLASCO specialized in outdoor furniture, and complete ambiences for enjoying 365 days. GAN, is our hand-crafted rugs, complements and spaces thanks to the creative direction of Mapi Millet. And DIABLA, the casual brand of the group which aim is to explore fresh lifestyles, through inspirational outdoor furniture and complements for contemporary ambiences. We are in more than 90 countries on the 5 continents as well as in our own showrooms.
Two generations continues in the Gandia Blasco Group, José and his children Álvaro, commercial director and company vice-chairman, and Alejandra, creative&communication deputy director and creative director of Diabla.
We believe in design culture, innovation, creativity, handicrafts. We make them possible thanks to sustainability processes and a dialogue between great designers from different cultures.
We were one of the first Dutch manufacturers to introduce our own brand to the market in 2002 and we have since developed into a true concept in the solar shading industry. We believe we are the brand which gives people great tools for life, with means and ways which can create beautiful moments.
In 1946, richtte Joe Hunter en Henry Sonnenberg een nieuw bedrijf op, genaamd the Hunter Douglas Machinery Corporation. Door het combineren van hun expertise en kennis wilden ze samen een nieuw verwerkingsproces voor lichtgewicht aluminium ontwikkelen. Binnen een paar jaar leidde hun samenwerking echter tot de uitvinding van een product dat de raambekledingsmarkt voor altijd zou veranderen; de horizontale aluminium jaloezie. Deze horizontale jaloezie werd in 1951 geïntroduceerd in Europa onder de naam Luxaflex®. De functionaliteit en het design van de jaloezieën maakte dat het eerste echte alternatief voor gordijnen al snel zeer geliefd werd onder vele Europeanen.
Als erkend Europees marktleider zette Luxaflex® haar geschiedenis van ontwikkeling en innovatie door tot in de 21ste eeuw. Het merk bleef continu nieuwe productlijnen toevoegen aan haar portfolio, en won vele prestigieuze prijzen voor baanbrekende innovaties
