Every day at your school, a large amount of recyclable material is thrown out. Half of all garbage in schools is generated during two hours lunchtime. However, it really isnt garbage until you throw it away.streaming materials into recycling avenues, even materials previously considered non recyclable such as food left overs, Styrofoam, juice pouches, chip bags, etc. can reduce waste from school lunch by 90%! We Future Cycle is a 501c3 charitable organization that helps schools: Create a generation of children that are actively involved in recycling and take responsibility for their daily actions. Anna Giordano started We Future Cycle after she seeing the daily garbage piles generated at her childrens school and realizing that she had to do something. Anna has implemented School Lunch Recycling at 15 schools in Westchester County by training thousands of children to empty and sort containers into the correct bins. Garbage was reduced from 293 lbs per lunch down to three, a 98% reduction. A concerned mom and business woman, Annas vision is to save the world, one school district at a time. Ashley is motivated by knowing that the earths resources are limited, and reclaiming resources through recycling and composting are necessary to leave a habitable planet for future generations.
