Sprinkler Innovations manufactures the only FM Approved Retractable Telescoping Fire Sprinkler for Anechoic Chambers. Sprinkler Innovationsâ sprinkler head is FM-approved. Our patented sprinkler head will telescope into the chamber in a controlled extension under an activation of the sprinkler system. (These systems are pre-action type.) Once triggered by your detection system (smoke or heat), the heads lower into the chamber. Any subsequent discharge would then only occur as a result of actual heat detection at the head itself. Whether the heads lower into the chamber during a test or under a false activation, the sprinklers deploy with closed heads. No water is discharged into the chamber unless the heads are activated by heat detection. Following a deployment, the sprinkler system is then drained remotely and all heads automatically retract to the normal position outside the chamber. No customer equipment or anechoic materials need to be removed from the chamber at any time during a test or in the event of a false deployment. Time from the start of the test to resumption of anechoic testing is only two hours. The system is also slam-proof. Our retractable, telescoping sprinkler heads are available in side-wall or ceiling-mounted arrangements. We also offer a new base mount especially for Modular Chambers, or welded chambers. The base is extended to come flush with the base plate that is attached to the inside of the chamber so that no wood is exposed after the mounting hole is cut. On a welded chamber, all that is needed is the base mounting plate, and it is welded to the top of the chamber. The base mounting plate, has (12)-3/8â studs pressed in flush, and the plate is zinc chromate plated. We also offer custom RF Shielding gaskets that self-adhere to the sprinkler head.
