Wave Neuroscience is a Newport Beach, California-based neurotechnology company founded in 2019 on a simple premise: mental health is brain health, and biomarker-guided neuromodulation can pioneer a new era in brain health treatment. Wave developed MeRT® (Magnetic e-Resonance Therapy), the first FDA-cleared personalized, EEG-guided neuromodulation system for PTSD. Unlike standard approaches cleared for other mental health conditions that apply the same protocol to every patient, MeRT begins with a quantitative EEG to map each patient’s unique brain activity, then delivers precisely derived transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) tailored to their individual neurophysiology. Wave's pivotal clinical trial demonstrated a 52% average reduction in PTSD symptoms — a superior outcome compared to antidepressants, trauma-focused talk therapy, and other FDA-cleared neuromodulation protocols.
