We must be bold in our endeavours and challenge traditional methods of dealing with global and complex water issues. To achieve this, we must energize, empower, and equip our communities, youth, and young leaders with cross-sector water knowledge, fundamental 21st century skills and tools necessary to approach the future of water. Current Projects: Waterlution is a Canadian based non-profit with multiple global locations. Since 2003, Waterlution has facilitated multi-stakeholder dialogue, encompassing a broad network of engaged diverse individuals, organizations and communities, with the understanding that everyone has a vested interest in water. Waterlution’s dedication to promoting water awareness, collaboration, and opportunities for participatory community engagement has been a catalyst in creating sustainable and innovative water management systems for the last 17 years. Water Innovation Labs - Canadian and international based training and experiences which bring together diverse young professionals, water resource guests, traditional knowledge holders, artists and community leaders to develop leadership skills and to co-innovate for solutions to complex water challenges. Great Art for Great Lakes - Participatory community art programming and maker-workshops where community members contribute to a collective art piece that commemorates the Great Lakes and their communities. Youth Programs- Curriculum-aligned, social studies- centric water education programs for youth ages 7-18. Developed and delivered with the support of a Youth Advisory Board (YAB) composed of young professionals from across Canada. YAB members receive leadership skills training and mentorship to engage youth groups and classes in learning how connected their history, communities and families are connected to water bodies through various programs. Waterlution’s purpose is to inspire pattern-making and pattern-breaking change towards a healthy and sustainable relationship with water.
