The Madison Metropolitan School District is committed to ensuring that every school is a thriving school that prepares every student to graduate high school well-equipped for college, careers and their community.
We serve over 27,000 students in 52 schools, including 32 elementary schools (grades K-5), 12 middle schools (grades 6-8), four comprehensive high schools and two alternative high school. We also have 4-year-old Kindergarten (4K), early childhood programs and alternative programs at the secondary level (grades 6-12).
The District covers approximately 65 square miles including all or part of the cities of Madison and Fitchburg, the villages of Maple Bluff and Shorewood Hills, and the towns of Blooming Grove, Burke and Madison.
The Sauk Prairie School District is small enough to create meaningful relationships with every student yet large enough to provide opportunities rarely available in much larger districts. From unique extra-curricular activities to advanced coursework in a broad range of fields, we are ready to welcome students and prepare them for lives full of learning. The Sauk Prairie community has invested in modern school facilities that empower our teachers and 2,800 students to work together from first learning to read to wrestling with our society's most complex issues. What an exciting place to learn, grow, and serve.
