Wanfang Data focuses on science & technology, academic contents over 25 years as the leading information service provider in China. It was founded by Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China (ISTIC) in 1993, which is subsidiary of Ministry of Science and Technology of P. R. China, became the first state-owned shareholding high technology enterprise in information service area in 2000. In 2007Wanfang Data & ISTIC established the first DOI registration service in Asia - "Chinese DOI" jointly. By the end of 2017, we've registered more than 27 million DOIs for contents published in China, including 25 million journal papers from 7400 journal titles, 2 million dissertations, science data sets, books, conference proceedings, etc. In 2013, Wanfang Data became a Sponsoring Affiliate of Crossref, to help academic publishers in China to register DOIs for their English contents with Crossref service.
