Wallscope’s vision is to create a world without barriers to knowledge. Wallscope has an ongoing interest in improving the decision layer associated with large and complex sources of data, and provides human-scale solutions which support improved reporting and publishing of data. We do this by writing the ‘rules and reasoners’ (algorithms) that enable machine-based processes. We approach our work from the perspective that all information has a probable future economic benefit. We have been working on several projects which use Linked Data and Semantic Web Techniques to extend the value of existing data. These include work within the area of library/archive services, reconciling data to better engage service users as well as improving the logistics associated with supply chains, inventory management and product specification and design. Our tools and services have been used to support Digital Transformation projects within a range of organisations, including the Scottish Government, Public Health Scotland and the University of Edinburgh. Founded by David Eccles and Ian Allaway, Wallscope was incorporated in 2014 to develop technologies associated with ‘big data’. Ian and David have worked with the technologies associated with the world wide web since its inception.
