The company began business in 1991 as a proprietorship operated by Michael Dougherty. This proprietorship was registered as Horizon Landscaping and performed a majority of its business in the maintenance and installation sectors of the residential market. Horizon Landscape Contractors was nominated as Business of the Year by the Langley Chamber of Commerce and was voted as Vancouver’s Best Landscaping Company by the readers of Georgia Straight in 2008.
