Vortex Heart aims to innovate ECMO cannulation to reinstate flow according to natural physiology, in order to achieve advanced patient outcome in ARDS. In synopsis, Vortex Heart has developed a novel cannula design and cannulation strategy for ECMO. Vortex Heart is comprised of a strong multidisciplinary team , proprietary technology, has had its hypothesis tested in a clinical POC and is currently tackling a growing market segment. ECMO is becoming a standard of care treatment for ARDS with its use increasing exponentially across the globe, this includes treating the surge of ARDS which is a symptomatic feature in severe COVID 19 patients. Patient outcomes using ECMO are not where they should be and our canula aims to address the existing limiting factors. The Vortex Heart canula reinstates flow ,and thus optimizes the ECMO procedure, by following the principles of natural physiology and physics.
