Voluntary Action Scotland Information

VAS is the network organisation for Scotland’s Third Sector Interfaces. Our membership is composed of the TSIs and we are governed by a board of directors made up of a majority of TSIs. Our small staff team works with our network and a range of stakeholders across third, statutory and private sectors to fulfil our role in advocating for, supporting and co-ordinating the work of the TSIs. Advocate We promote the work of the TSIs in order raise awareness of their role and impact in our communities and within the third sector. We seek to influence public policy development, service re-design and delivery in order to ensure TSIs can play an impactful role in supporting our communities. Support We support the development of robust practice development via performance frameworks, benchmarking and good practice sharing built around the work of TSIs themselves and our close stakeholders. Co-ordinate We co-ordinate the marketing and development of the youth volunteering accreditation scheme, Saltire Awards, in order to maximise the potential for youth volunteering in Scotland. We plan and deliver an annual TSI network conference to provide an opportunity for TSIs to come together, share learning, participate in decisions and strengthen our collective impact. We are a limited company and registered Scottish charity.
