Natuurpunt is a volunteer organization that protects vulnerable and threatened nature in Flanders. With more than 48.000 volunteers, organized in around 160 local departments, our NGO manages more than 26.000 hectares of Flemish nature in 500 different nature reserves. Our volunteers play a key role. They take the initiative for purchases of new nature, they manage the reserves and make our nature accessible for the public. Thanks to the work of over 120 field study groups and the online platform 'Waarnemingen.be' volunteers keep track of our Flemish nature's health. This research provides us the scientific basis for persuading the government into acting accordingly. The volunteers are supported in their work by more than 124.000 Natuurpunt members.
