Vmedkit is seeking to solve one of the major causes of death around the world- mental illness — leveraging Virtual Reality technology (VR). They are passionately seeking to democratize access to Mental Healthcare. Globally, VRET has shown positive results in the treatment of various mental problems such as anxiety, pain and specific phobias including acrophobia, agoraphobia, aqua-phobia and so on. They were able to create lifelike and simulated experiences that are immersive and interactive, all delivered on a low-cost readily available VR headset. The team’s deep clinical understanding, medical expertise and VR development background all come together to fuel this platform. Presently, hospitals are taking advantage of Vmedkit to provide relief for their patients from severe pain. Patrick Language and Speech Center, the leading autism center in Nigeria is currently partnering with Vmedkit in introducing virtual reality as a therapy alternative. Vmedkit is making stride efforts to partner with the Nigerian military, to deploy Virtual reality therapy for military personnel especially those who are victims of PTSD from the mental wounds of recent years. While they consider African countries especially Nigeria as key victims of this problem, they anticipate that the VRET solution can be adopted and applied in countries around the Middle East and other parts of the world experiencing unrest.
