After 5 years developing Swiss watches for private brands all over the world, Paulo Martins was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, and his wife a few months later with a brain tumor that causes her epilepsy; these events encouraged him to develop the Vitruvian Shield project. In 2018, Vitruvian Shield (VS) carry out a proof of concept with ADI GEN3 prototype and after that, he started the development of the mobile application, the web app, and the API until receiving the GEN4 in late 2020. In 2021 with the CHUV (Lausanne University Hospital) it was possible to validate the GEN4 with gold-standard devices; and today the project has a team of 2 software engineers and 2 biomedical engineers fully dedicated to the development and validation of the platform; that we will use as the main tool for the 1st clinical studies that we will start in 2022 with epileptic patients and the support from Innosuisse (Swiss Innovation Agency), in order to initially collect data representative of all types of epileptic seizures; allowing in a second stage the detection of these same crises with the ultimate aim of predicting them in advance. The Vitruvian Shield software was developed in collaboration with the CHUV team, and the ADI health care department, mediated by Mr. Jan Broders; using exclusively the GEN4 equipped with ECG, PPG, EDA, ACC and therm; connected with our mobile application which in turn communicates with our cloud dataset and API. We want to offer an unique product and service in the world of medical research, providing a multipurpose platform for the collection of biometrics datasets and representative data of patients' pathologies, allowing the optimization of resources for this purpose; as well as support for the implementation of Machine learning to improve the detection and prediction of events resulting from these pathologies. Our team encompasses a broad range of backgrounds and experience, and specialize in complimentary approaches to the proper diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of behavioral health issues. - The mobile application in its final version will offer its users a health journal with metrics such as heart Rate, heart rate variability, cardiac arrhythmias detection, breaths per minute, oxygen saturation levels during sleep, health status (Exercise + Move + Relax + Sleep), fall detection, seizure detection/prediction, sleep quality, sleep apnea detection, physical activity monitoring in patients with neurological disorders, stress levels, and peripheral body temperature. - Possibility of sending event reports by the patient to their doctor or team to allow a better diagnosis. - Medication with alerts. - Remote consultations by video/audio. - Voice assistance after detecting abnormal events. - Our web application responds to the needs of medical teams and health care providers, offering them direct access to their patients' biometric data, their medication, and important events, ensuring a perfect diagnosis and follow-up. - Our API offers all research physicists privileged and secure access to raw data collected during their tests and clinical studies, allowing its export to any external application; and or for the implementation ML for event detection.
