Why did we build Vislock? Because even with robust processes, experienced teams and the best intentions, utility strikes were still happening. Our founder issued his first Permit to Dig in the 1990s. Over the next 30 years, he worked on some of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects, developing permit processes and safety procedures to reduce excavation risk. But the industry still relied heavily on paper. In 2018, one question changed everything: “What if we could create a digital platform that didn’t simply replace paper, but actively controlled the entire permit process through intelligent gateways?” That idea became Vislock. Today, Vislock supports more than 10,000 users, helping construction and infrastructure organisations reduce utility-strike risk and manage excavation work more safely.
