The INDEPENDENCE VISITOR CENTER CORPORATION (IVCC) is a Pennsylvania nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization, which operates in cooperation with the National Park Service, Visit Philadelphia®, Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau, the City of Philadelphia, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The IVCC manages the Independence Visitor Center, the official visitor center of Independence National Historical Park and the greater Philadelphia region, including the City of Philadelphia, the Southern New Jersey and Delaware River Waterfronts, as well as Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties in Pennsylvania. At the Independence Visitor Center, visitors can purchase tickets for local tours, attractions, and museums, and souvenirs from the official gift shop of Philadelphia. They can also pick up free maps and brochures and utilize free services and amenities, including WiFi and accessible public restrooms. Friendly Visitor Experience Associates are available to help turn any visitor's wish list into an unforgettable, customized itinerary. To activate this personalized touch with as many people as possible, the IVCC also manages a satellite visitor center location, the LOVE Park Visitor Center; operates the visitor-friendly public transit service, Philly PHLASH® Downtown Loop; and the private event space, The Liberty View Ballroom and Event Space, located on the mezzanine level of Independence Visitor Center. AlterConf was a traveling conference series that provided safe opportunities for marginalized people and those who support them in the tech and gaming industries. By highlighting the powerful voices and positive initiatives of local community members, we built hope and strengthened the communitys resolve to create safer spaces for everyone. The conferences went beyond the limited definitions and basic discussions of diversity to create a deeper, more nuanced conversation. Each conference featured a wide range of speakers delivering critical analyses of tech and gaming culture and presented their vision for what our community can be.
