Headquartered in San Mateo, CA, Virtunet was founded in 2010 with the intent to alleviate sundry IO issues within virtualized servers. Virtunet initially did services work for storage & networking OEMs and service providers and then transitioned its business to build a software solution specifically to solve storage IO related bottleneck within VMware. Virtunet now has two software solutions, VirtuCache is host side caching software that improves the performance of any existing storage appliance without requiring an appliance or storage network upgrade. VirtuCache does this by caching frequently used data from any storage appliance to any in-host SSD. VirtuStor is another software from us that clusters any physical servers together and presents this cluster of servers as an iSCSI appliance. VirtuStor is especially relevant when organizations need large amounts of storage as is the case with video, backups, data warehouse, and analytics. Virtunet has been profitable every year since it was founded.
