VCE was established in 1997 as a joint venture between Mediagrif Interactive Technologies (TSE: MDF) and HPI AG (FRA: CEW3). In 1999, Arrow Electronics (NYSE: ARW) took a 49% ownership in the company and helped the firm to establish its worldwide presence as the leader in OEM / EMS excess inventory management.
