Viridian Raven Information

Viridian Raven is an application that makes early intervention for global forest management possible, with the use of Earth Observation data from the Sentinel-satellites. With the use of satellite data, we create maps for foresters. With our maps, we can show different vegetation characteristics that help in forest management. Our maps are currently updated approximately every 10 days, but within the next few years this will speed up to every 2-5 days.​ Our target is calculating risk-zones of bark beetle outbreaks. We will calculate these zones, and give this information as direct feedback to the forester. Since our calculations are done near real-time, early intervention becomes possible. This is vital for the prevention of large scale outbreaks. ​
