The Virginia Tech Transportation Institute (VTTI) is a premier research institute, created by Virginia Tech in 1988 to advance transportation on a global scale. VTTI's work spans the breadth of mobility applications for all road users, including advanced and emerging vehicle technologies, human factors, and digital and physical road infrastructure. Research conducted at VTTI has effected significant changes in public policies for driver, passenger, and pedestrian safety. We also support innovation, advancing the design of vehicles and infrastructure to increase safety and reduce environmental impacts.
