Promoting Healthy Alternatives for Teens (PHAT) gives groups of youth a chance to take an interactive tour of the Shock Trauma Center. During this free tour, youth talk to Dr. Carnell Cooper, team leader of the VPP, meet medical professionals, listen to stories of victims and perpetrators of violence who've made positive changes in their lives, and talk about ways to make their community a better place to live. The youth also discuss risk taking behavior, decision making, respect, responsibility, and personal goals through activities led by VPP outreach workers and performance poetry artists. Donations Welcome. Please make checks payable to: UMMS Foundation and write "VPP" on the message line. Thank you!
