Vintage Worx have started an exciting journey this year, applying for the community asset transfer of a public park and then developing it to deliver support services and employment, training and community enterprise opportunities in one of the most deprived areas of the country, the total amount we are going to have to raise to complete this project will be c£2.5m (if I say it quickly it never sounds a lot!!), which we know is a huge but not impossible task in today's climate and we know there are going to be a few more hurdles that we will have to overcome, inevitably there will be some changes to our development plan too, but the best thing about working with the community is sheer volume of ideas and vast wealth of knowledge that only comes from working with such a variety of people all with different backgrounds and experiences so we know in advance that there will also be some great moments and we have created this page to share our journey over the next couple of years. Hopefully anyone about to go down the same path as us may learn from the mistakes we will no doubt make along the way and in the same way anyone who has already accomplished what we are trying to do may offer what I know will be gratefully received advice. We hope you enjoy having a look at this page now and again, we won't be updating daily to begin with, but we will post updates, pictures clips and little snippets every time something changes (good and bad)
