Vinistra is a non-profit organization and the oldest wine association in Croatia, uniting more than 120 members - vinegrowers and winemakers from Istria. Since 1994, Vinistra has been organizing Croatia’s most important wine fair and the country’s largest and most prestigious wine competition in Poreč. In 2023, Istria further strengthened its international reputation by hosting the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles. As an official partner of Decanter magazine, Vinistra organizes the annual Decanter Winners Showcase, presenting Croatia’s best-awarded wines. Dedicated to promoting Istrian wine internationally, Vinistra regularly showcases its members at leading global wine events, including Wine Paris (Paris), ProWein (Germany), and the Decanter Fine Wine Encounter (London). The members of the Association are engaged in growing grapes, making wine and grape products, production of planting material, selection, research and other types of viticulture and winemaking, with their permanent place of residence or headquarters being in the area of Istria County and Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.
