Vigilant Information

Vigilant Atlantic is an architecture, civil engineering, cost monitoring, and project management firm with offices in Dartmouth, NS and St. John's, NL. We started in 2012 as an owner's project management firm — no design, no construction, just representing clients through every phase of complex project delivery. We operated that way for over a decade before we added design and engineering services. That origin shapes everything about how we work. Our design team includes professionals who came from the construction side — people who understand what a design decision costs in the field before it's committed to drawings. Our cost professionals sit in design meetings from the first sketch. Architecture, civil engineering, cost estimating, cost monitoring, and project management are delivered by one integrated team, under one contract, with one point of accountability to the owner. We work with private developers, commercial owners, municipalities, and institutional clients across Atlantic Canada. We were on your side before we ever drew a line. This belief drives everything we do. We believe that the best way to deliver a successful project for the Owner is to treat everyone with respect, creating an atmosphere of collaboration and teamwork. Conflict is the enemy of progress on a job site. We believe that everyone who works at Vigilant deserves the freedom to live their lives. Our policy of unlimited vacation empowers our team to balance the intense demands of their jobs with their responsibilities outside of the office. People who love their work are happier, healthier, and more productive. We believe that our clients represent much more than a source of revenue for our business. We refuse to consider each client as a single transaction. Instead, we consider the potential of a mutually beneficial, lifelong partnership. Business relationships that are built on trust and mutual respect will stand the test of time. We believe there is a better way forward.
