The Center for Human Development, Inc. With over 70 programs and services, CHD is Western Massachusetts’ largest and most successful social service organization, delivering a broad array of critical services with proven effectiveness, integrity and compassion. Each year, our community based social service and behavioral health programs reach over 18,000 people in Western Massachusetts and Connecticut. We currently employ more than 1,400 professionals across all of our locations. The Home for Little Wanderers helps build stable lives and hopeful futures for children and their families. Through a wide range of innovative community-based and residential programs, we ensure the emotional, social, educational and physical well-being of more than 15,000 children and families each year. Many of these children have experienced abuse, neglect, trauma or a disrupted family life. As the oldest child welfare agency in America, we provide them with safe surroundings, permanent, loving relationships and a secure path toward a better, brighter future.
