Vicinity was founded by four people who saw something that didn't sit right: businesses in the communities they called home were being left behind. They had spent years working in technology, and they kept running into the same problem. Companies in places like Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, and tribal lands across the country were dealing with distant vendors who didn't understand their needs, couldn't respond quickly, and frankly, didn't seem to care much about what happened after the contract was signed. So we decided to do something about it. Not by building another faceless corporation or chasing private equity dollars, but by staying right here in the communities we serve. Our teams live in these places. They shop at the same stores, their kids go to the same schools, and they understand what it means when a system goes down or a project falls behind. This isn't just business for us. It's personal.
